WHEN TO CONSIGN WHAT:

There is a good time and a better time to consign your things. You may already know, when to consign what, a

little refresher can't hurt. Below is a guideline for when items sell best, in most places. Also, take a peek at our MOST WANTED page for guidance. The best advice is "If it will sell best in April, consign it in March to get the most out of your consigning experience."

Spring-January, February, & March: (pastel, floral & lightweight fabrics)

*Thin sweaters & jackets * thin long & short sleeve tops * spring suits * jeans * capris *skirts * dresses * wraps * rain coats * shawls * sandals * & flip flops.

Summer-April, May, & June: (Bright colors, lightweight fabrics, hot weather clothing) * Tank tops * short sleeve tops * shorts * sun dresses * sandals * flip flops * bathing suit cover-ups * jeans*wraps * & beach totes

Fall – July, August & September: (Warm and Dark colors, heavier fabrics, Back to School" & transitional wear)* Jeans * denim jackets * Long sleeve tops * sweaters * jackets * hoodies * closed toe shoes * business wear * dress pants * dance wear * dresses.

Winter - October, November & December: (Warm and Dark colors, heavy fabrics) * Wool coats * heavy jackets * sweaters * boots * hats* scarves * gloves * snow wear * winter sportswear * boots * gowns and holiday dresses * leather and fur * robes & slippers * jeans.

ITEMS WE DO NOT TAKE:

Mens clothing, prom dresses, wedding dresses, underwear-bras, panties, slips, girdles, and outdated clothing (no more than 2-3 years old).

**We are EXTREMELY selective on the quality of the items we accept. Please inspect your garments carefully to make sure they are free from any stains (check the underarms), pulled threads, pilling, missing buttons, broken zippers, fading, color-bleeding, holes, pet hair, or deodorant marks.

Please make sure the clothing is the following:

1.) Ensure that all clothing is clean, has been freshly laundered, and stack your unfolded items to save processing time.

2.) Ensure that all clothing is “gently used” that is free of stains, rips, tears, worn out knees, fading, pilling, missing buttons, broken zippers or torn seams.

3.) Ensure that all clothing is fashionable and season appropriate (no more than 2-3 years old).

4.) Ensure that all footwear (boots, shoes, sandals, skates, cleats, etc.) are in NEW condition (no dirty soles or missing shoe laces).

5.) Please, no more than 40 items per appointment.

HOW TO CONSIGN AT MELISE'S:

Please schedule an appointment for all consignment drop offs. Consignors contact us at 618-993-1800 to receive payment on your account. Payouts will be done at the end of the contract. You must call at least 24 hours in advance to have a check available. Although every precaution will be taken, Melise’s is not responsible for the loss or damage of any of the items left for consignment.
